Governor Profiles

Rex Williams
Parent Governor I became a Governor of the old Angel Road First School in 2006 and continued into the Federated Angel Road Schools. I am the link governor for ICT, Science and Design and Technology. I also sit on the Finance, Premises Health and Safety and Staffing and Pay committees.
I have two children in the school, one in the Junior school (Year 6) and the other in the Infant school (Year 2) so feel that I am ideally placed to represent parents of both schools.

LEA Governor I am an LEA Governor at the Federated School and really enjoy being able to support the Federated Schools in this way. I have four Girls. Two of them are at Sewell Park College and the two younger girls are at Angel Road Infants and Junior School.
I have been the Local City Councillor for Sewell for the past six years so really feel that I can bring something to the Governors from the Community Aspect. I am involved with the Local Community in many ways sitting on the Sewell Community Group and Toy Library, A guider of the local Rainbows Group, Friends of Sewell Park, the Local SNAP Committee and also Friends of Norwich in Bloom.
I really like to fundraise and have recently organised along with other Governors the Auction held at the Junior School and the Junior School showed off their wildlife garden to the Anglia in Bloom judges in July for the Sewell Urban Communities route.
I am in and around the Schools most days and welcome any parents to ask me any questions that they need to find the answers too.

Community Governor I recently retired after 30+ years in the civil service and decided that I should give some of my "free time" to community work, hence my position of community governor on the Angel Road governing body.
I have two grown up daughters, one of who lives locally and the other in Cheshire. I also have a grandson of 10 who attends a local school and keeps me on my toes and in touch with children's issues.
I hope to use my event, project and organisational experience to assist the governing body to help Angel Road school provide quality governance for the benefit of the pupils.
My interests include organising events and trips for the Norwich Area Civil Service Sports Council, travelling, gardening, art and history.
I look forward to meeting as many parents, staff and children during my time as governor.
